Travellers from Hyderabad and Bangalore are mostly known to visit the city of Nizamabad, which is the administrative headquarters of Nizamabad district. A brief sightseeing tour of the city can be completed within half a day, but for complete sightseeing, one must spend 2-3 days.
Take a look at some of the breathtaking sites in Nizamabad:
Nizamabad Fort: The most beautiful aspect of this fort is its architecture. The influence of Asaf Jahi architecture is visible in the summer houses and halls. It was constructed by the Rashtrakutas, after which it was occupied by Emperor Alauddin Khilji.
Archaeological and heritage museum: Rare artefacts and antiquities can be found in this museum. It showcases the development of local civilisation right from the Paleolithic era, up to the Vijayanagara Empire. The museum has three sections- sculptural gallery, bronze decorative gallery and archaeological section.
Mallaram Forest: Lush green environment that takes you away from the city. The quietness of these woods beckons tourists. It has rocks which are more than a billion years old. Pagodas, forest treks and vantage points to watch the wild are famous here.
Sarangapur: This place is just 8km from Nizamabad, and is popular majorly due to its Hanuman temple. This ancient temple is spread across 1400 acres.
