Age old traditions and festivals are still celebrated with great fervor by the people of Sirsa. During the festivals of Purnmashi and Amavasya, families offer special prayers and give alms to those in need. People belonging to all faiths and customs, join each other in celebrating festivals such as Raksha Bandhan, Sankrant, Diwali, Gugga Naumi, Janamashtami, Vasant panchami, Ram Navmim Shivratri, Gangor, Holi, Teej and Kartik Snan which are widely celebrated by people belonging to all faiths and customs.
Teej is one of the most important festivals of Sirsa district and is celebrated during the month of Sawan (monsoons), between July and August. This festival is celebrated consistently till the arrival of Gangor festival.
Apart from festivals, Sirsa is also known for the larger than life fairs conducted frequently. Mela Ram Dev is one of the most popular fairs held annually at Kagdana, Ellenebad and Ludesar. Mela Sacha Sauda, Hola, Mela Baba Bhuman Shah, Baisakhi fair and Mela Shah Bu Shah are other fairs held on the first Sunday and the last Sunday of every month at across various locations.
